Political Left: Comparing And Contrasting With The Right

The label political left is typically used to describe a liberal or a Democrat. Traditionally a liberal was somebody who believed in the constitutional rights of the individual. They wished to scale back the impact of the Church or spiritual sects without defying the conventions of the Constitution. They were often associated with being the patriots of liberty and would seem, on paper at the very least, to be extra tolerant and extra generous.

The political right on the other hand would be used to describe a person who was more conservative in their outlook on life. When a hostile condition arose within the Middle East for example, while the political left would be willing to work with the United Nations and try to attain a peaceful settlement, the right would usually advocate an armed response specifically if they believed the USA was at risk.

The political right was often linked to being American patriots.

Traditionally, the Republicans would have been seen to assist the military as well as its veterans, although it is debatable whether or not that is still the case. They believed in a business spirit, after all this is the USA where a person can become rich if they believe in their dreams. With the latest financial slump, there are a lot of people who believe that persons on the political right will support the capitalistic principle at the expense of ordinary people's pensions and stock holdings.

Regardless of whether you go along with or disagree with either party, it is more than clear that there are extreme viewpoints on both sides. As an example certain conservatives believe that every person ought to be responsible for their healthcare, schooling etc. After all if some can be successful why can't everyone? They do not buy into the fact that some individuals simply are not cut out to be entrepreneurs.

There are in addition problems on the political left which has been accused of stifling the American dream via its economic strategy. No matter which side of the political area you sit, one thing is clear. You will never be bored if you are studying, or mixed up in, politics.
