A Splendid African Safari Afloat A Hot Air Balloon With Remarkable Scenes Of The Savanah Full With Wild Animals.
An African safari is not complete devoid of taking a flight on a hot air-driven balloon.
In 1976, Alan Root and his spouse Joan- wildlife movie makers, used a hot air-driven balloon to capture movie clips of wild animals. It was more convenient, to use the balloon to discover places where a vehicle could not reach, to shoot gorgeous aerials of wildlife.
From then on, the concept drew the curiosity of clients who were ready to pay top-dollar for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. This gave birth to balloon safaris in Kenya Tanzania safaris.

Adrift, we have a vantage eagle's eye vision of the immensity of the Masai Mara and the Serengeti Parks extending to the extent where the eye can perceive. It seems limitless.
We take 90 degrees turn and below we locate the tops of the heads of giraffes through the cover of acacia bushes as they nibble the leaves, barely noticing us drifting in the air in the sky above.
After 60 minutes adrift, the journey comes to an end with a bouncy landing bringing us back to the ground. Next we creep out of the basket to a champagne breakfast. The magnificence is that this breakfast occurs in the bush, wherever you land, and it's prepared as you watch with the burners that a short while before held you hovering in the air. What a way to start our day!

"One thing that amazes the majority of first-time balloonists is the utter stillness, the peace as you cruise above the savanah, the woodland and the streams of the Masai Mara. The sounds below drift clearly up-wards: a lion's roar, elephants crashing through the bush, baboons perched on the tops of the trees and shrubs. If you're fortunate you will scale higher above for the view of a lifetime. " the captain offers.
After year end rains, the grass is lush green as we drive back to our camp watching wildlife en-route. It is contrasting as these are the similar plains which, in November, were golden, dried out and hash.
Out of the blue we stumble upon a mother cheetah marking her tree, spraying the area with urine. Once done, she checks our group and then releases a soft tweeting sound as she makes her way through the thicket. Perhaps she is looking for her litter.
The grasslands are packed with elephants, buffaloes, topi, wildebeests and other antelopes and the scene is just fabulous.
